1. I've never done this before.  Where do I start?
With a simple phone call.  We will set up an appointment, at the
potential project site, to give you an estimate for your project.
There is no fee for the initial consultation.

2. What do I need for the first meeting?
Your ideas, goals, and budget are a great start!  If available, a land
survey on hand will expedite zoning reviews. Back to Top

3. I've had my initial consultation, now what?
Brown & Glynn will define the scope of the work as discussed and
create a quote based on the discussions. Typically, you should receive
the quote 1 1/2 weeks after the initial consultation. Back to Top

4. How does Brown & Glynn know what to quote without having
a complete design plan?

We will assess the project as presented in discussion, and advise
you regarding the process you will use toward attaining your goals.

The proposal we present will will include allowances for changeable
aspects of the project; if the allowance is exceeded, the difference is
handled as an extra. As a simple example, let's suppose that our bid
allows for $600 for a 6 ft bathroom vanity ($100/ft). The vanity you
pick out is $900 ($150/ft). The difference, $300 ($900-$600), is an
extra, and will be added to your final bill. Back to Top

5. What if we want to make changes to the proposal?
The proposal is only the beginning. It is expected that
improvements/changes will be made throughout the planning and
construction process. These changes are addressed by addenda to
the contract. Minor changes may require no addendum, while major
changes may require substantial changes to
the projected budget. Back to Top

6. Do I need architectural plans?

jobs need architects plans. Brown & Glynn includes/provides architectural
services through the Kurt J. Ludwig, Architectural Firm. We are happy
to work with any architect you choose. Back to Top

upon the scope of the work required. Back to Top
